So a tale of woe. I bought a 35/1.4 SC last year. The focus tab got loose on the lens and I sent the lens off for warrantee work as advised by the CV dealer to:

Merrica Trading Co. Inc.
www.merrica.com
#301- 7 West 7th Ave.
Vancouver, BC
V5Y 1L4

I received confirmation that they received the lens, and that was the last I've heard of it. For 4 months, no communication to either emails and phone calls. Given that such a simple warrantee repair should not take 4 months the lens must be considered lost. Surely CV ultimately must be responsible for my lens? Opinions?

I am not surprized with your problem. Here in Europe the nearest proper service is in Cosina, Japan, as far as I know.

I tryed to adjust my Nokton 50/1.5 in Moscow, Russia but the local representative's repairservice is complete sh*t - just a man with screwdrivers who is asking from you a camera body to adjust the lens by his 50+ years old eyes. Good iidea, then, but not with my gear.

Also I tryed to know from the Cosina's representative in Germany. They honestly answered that they send everything in Japan because they do not have any serviceman onboard.

So it may be that your lens just has a long journey to Japan and back.

And I am really upset with the Cosina's policy. They produce good lenses, have a good retail worldwide chain and give a sh*t about the rest customer's needs. Very clever.
