hi guys, I wanted to know, for those who used DAG recently. How does he ship the lens after CLA? UPS/FedEx/USPS?
The reason that I am asking is that he sent me an email to expect my lens this past Friday; however, did not receive the lens. And as usual, he is quite slow with email response and phone is an endless ring...

Sorry, I should make it clear. I received a personal call on Wednesday that lens is being shipped back and payment arrangement agreement. Friday was email stating that "you should receive your lens today".

As far as I know, he uses UPS most of the time unless you request something different...
you can always call and ask for tracking info.
Yes, it will always be endless ringing but he will pick up when he gets to it. He is just really that busy.

He usually ships UPS, so there should be a tracking number.
You can try calling around 9PM central time. He's still there at work at that time, and easier to reach.

Don ships UPS most of the time. A couple weeks ago I was supposed to get a lens on Friday, and it didn't show, so I emailed him. He emailed back within an hour saying that according to UPS, my shipment had been "rescheduled." He gave me the tracking number, and for some reason, my package had been held over in Memphis, so I didn't get it until Monday.
That "rescheduled delivery" thing has happened to me with UPS more than once in the past year. :bang:

I hate to be critical because he does such good work, but at the very least Don should send his customers a tracking number when he ships. He invariably uses UPS so it isn't that hard. I once came home to find a box with $6.4K worth of gear sitting on my doorstep. No prior notification from Don, no signature required, no idea whether the shipment was insured or not. For one reason or another I haven't sent anything to him since.

I had this happen to me once - work completed, told me the lens would go out "tomorrow." Waited about 3 weeks (maybe the mail was slow), no lens. Finally able to get a hold of him, turns out he "forgot," and I got it a few days later...

I think if you were to ask, he would. I usually ask him to send my stuff back to my work address, so no matter what time UPS stops, someone can take the package, and it doesn't sit on my porch all afternoon.

Interesting, I've had two repairs done by him, both shipped back signature required, and I don't remember asking for that.
Lucky it worked out for you.

If memory serves, UPS offers a service whereby it generates an email to the addressee that contains the tracking number, relieving the shipper of the need to do that.
