It seems like I will be based in Bendigo, Australia from January until June. I need a darkroom. It looks like La Trobe University's Bendigo campus has darkrooms for their photography students, but as I won't be a student, I don't know if I could manage to get access. (If anyone knows someone who studies there... let me know! :))

Melbourne is not too far away and surely must have some darkrooms. I found Melbourne Camera Club, which looks pretty good. Any experiences/comments/recommendations?

There was a thread a few weeks ago in the Darkroom Forum that has a lot of information. Maybe check that before looking for more answers here. It's titled "Moving to Melbourne".

I will - cheers.

Bendigo has a fine art gallery and often has a photographic exhibition we don't get in Melbourne. A quick search shows that there is a Bendigo Camera Club. The home page has an email contact. http://bendigocc.blogspot.com/
I found the camera club but nothing about darkroom facilities, but I'll try contacting them. I see the Bendigo Art Gallery has the exhibition American Dreams: 20th century photography from George Eastman House opening on April 16 - yay!
