David Michael Kennedy's trip

He did this in 2004. Polaroid P/N film and an Airstream trailer with a wet darkroom.
But, I'm not sure about my feelings about this project ; I like the photos I've seen but it seems like a sort of "faux nostalgia" or, maybe, he is pining for some idealized America that I don't relate to. Going to think on this a bit.

What's often referred to as "Americana" is one of my favorite theme to photograph.

Not being born here, I am fascinated by the "old ways of life" that we can only see the traces of (very faint most of the times).

After all, nostalgia is a *big* part of photography, fantasy being the other.
