OK, time to get the ball rolling:

When: Saturday February 4, 2012

Where: in front of Burgers 'n Brew (it's next to the Farmers Market), 403 3rd St Davis, CA 95616-4518, (530) 750-3600.

Time: 10 am

Agenda: meet, greet, walk the market, wander over to Mondavi Center for architecture and other photography, get other interesting UC Davis building views per Mike L., then back to Burgers 'n Brew (or other?) for lunch and further bs.

Camera suggestions: Leica smugness is ok, Nikon RF encouraged, Canon RF always welcome. I may try for a Hassy SWC tutorial from MikeL. Pixel devices fine but please respect others privacy.

Attire: clothing strongly encouraged (could be cold and maybe even wet).

Got stuff to sell or money to burn? Bring it!

Thanks for pushing the ball. I've put the event on my calendar... that means I want to come. Assuming the family doesn't find a way to fill that date for me, I'll be there. :)

You got any extra red dots? I need one for the Oly. And I'd ask you for any unopened boxes of Kodak film you had laying around, but I'm guessing you've already listed it on eBay as "Mint, Collectibles".
 
I might go Pentax 67 and either a smug camera or an SP or a Contax or.... oh crap.

I am trying to be smug-free for awhile so will likely bring something that is encouraged or tutorial. Either will be wide. R4M with the Zeiss 21mmf4.5 is already in the car saying "Let's go pops!"

I am bringing a Billingham bag to sell cheap 'cause I got it cheap and I like you guys. Good news: it is in very (8-8.5) decent shape and holds a bunch and it's cheap. Bad news: someone before me cut off the carry strap, so it is a Billingham suitcase/doctor's bag (still has hand carry handle). Perfect for the car trunk as you haul that cool gear around.
 
heyy lots of Davis folks, cool. I just recently graduated from there and moving to Florida for a photo internship at the Miami Herald. if not, i woulda totally been there

Hmmm... if we're going wide 21mm is about the best I can do outside a fisheye. The Contax G2 with 21mm might have to make an appearance!

We could have 4 SWC there if we can convince Rodney to make the trip....

The big question: Do you risk your life to get in my car just to save fossil fuels? Kent said the only way he'd carpool is if HE did the driving.

I'm looking at Train#724 that leaves Emeryville @ 9:05 and arrives in Davis @ 10:27. Kent could board in the South Bay and be all liquored up by the time he reaches Emeryville. We might be able to get Ray as well, if he's willing to forgo his cycle. He can still wear his leathers :eek:
