Deal Of The Decade.

I drove down to Florida and picked up two Omega D5 XL enlargers. One in rather mint condition and the other with some wear for.........$150.00........................yes........$150.00 for two of these little tinkers.
The one in the shown image is the one with some wear, the other is currently being stripped down, cleaned and re oiled.
It cost $120.00 for the gas and a total of eleven hours in driving.
That is what I call a deal.
A Happy,
James.

The base on the one in the image is 34x22 and the other base is smaller at 28x18.
I am going to swap the bases because I like the bigger foot.

Figuring your price for the better one, and the gas money for the other, it does seem like a pretty good deal.

Did they come with the lenses and negative carriers? If so it was a great deal. I would figure 8-12 driving well worth it. Only, I would have to rent a car, as mine is not in as good shape as I would like it to be.

Just to put you post somewhat on topic, those should handle any roll film size but 112 (5x7 negs).

They are 5x7 enlargers. I doubt that I will ever get into that mode, I have way too much stuff as it is.
They both came without lense of neg carriers but I have in three days picked up a three lens turret, Schneider S series 100mm F5.6 lens, 6x9 and 6x6 neg carriers for only $215.00 and $17.00 postage. A new turret goes for $350.00 so I am not complaining. I had hoped my older Schneider would have fitted but alas it is the older four screw hole type, never mind for $135.00 like new for the new one, it is astounding value.
I think I am going to keep one as a spare, I have the space and looking at new spare parts prices, I would be foolish to get shot of the other one.
It is a buyers market out there at the moment.

Great deal. I got a Chromega a couple of years ago for $50 and it was a local pickup within 50 miles of me. I am sure the seller must have cried. It should have gone for more and I just got lucky. Sadly, I haven't been able to set aside the tiime to use it yet. I wish they sold time in a bottle.

i don't normally enjoy one-ups-manship, but..

i am getting an omega (not sure which one), that comes with pretty much everything (including a timer) but trays for $100 today. i have to drive about 5 minutes to get it.

i am just glad to see that i got a good deal. congrats on yours, as well.

I got a Durst 5x7, a Beseller 45V, a Omega D2V with lenses and plus lot of dark room stuff for free, so mine is a deal of century?
These dark room stuff worth nothing today.

But they do!

I had to drive across town to collect my Durst Laborator 1200, and handed over $50 for the privelege. It's now in very regular use. :)
