My nephew is 10 months old and he won't sit still. It's nearly impossible to shoot the lad when using a rangefinder. Someone's got to hold him, as my wife is doing in the pic below. He loves to mug for the camera, though... 🙂 I added a few other pics to the gallery. Shooting children is a new challenge to me...I'm really enjoying it!

PS - how do you upload photos to your user gallery/albums and the RFF galleries at the same time? I get duplicates when I try this.... 😕

You just need more practice and your Nephew needs a cousin.

I moved away from the SLR's to the RF's after having my daughter. She also moved quickly, and I found the lack of VF blackout and lower latency of the RF were key features in getting shots of her.

I do not think there is a way to have a picture in two albums at once. But people can view the image in your user gallery unless you mark it as private.

if i have this right...

upload pics to your gallery first.
then, when looking at the pic, at the bottom of the page it reads, edit photo or move photo, use that to move the pic to another album and it should not repeat in the recent pics gallery.

Shooting kids is a challenge. One bit of advise, get the picture, meaning snap the shutter even if you don't think you have critical focus. The moments go by quickly with a little one and they don't wait for you to get it perfect, so just get it and worry about the rest later. You will get better.

In addition:

If you upload to the Member's Gallery, which is the main gallery, you'll be able to add the technical information (camera, film, lens, location, etc.), allowing others to see the details. You can then move the image from the Member's Gallery into one of your personal galleries (at that point the technical information is erased). As a routine, I usually move my images from the Main gallery to my own personal galleris, once the images have cleared the Recent Photos window.

Yes, the great thing about them is they never hold still. I try to keep my focus pretty constant and move back and forth with them. Seems faster than fiddling with the focus tab - and as stated above, KEEP SHOOTING! Also, even though I prefer f/2.8 for nice out of focus backgrounds, I will go to something like 5.6 if they are really moving around alot. 'Hope this helps, sleepyhead

Awww come on Chris, the little bloke isn't even mobile yet. Wait till he's a toddler!!!! I've many pictures of vacant grass and empty sand pits due to the shutter lag on my Nikon 775, which is like 10 seconds (or at least it seems that way).

I partly solved the problem, by using a GR1s in snap mode with the flash always on, Reala film. You get a feel for the right distance after a bit and it gets that way that you can shoot without the viewfinder. There is no shutter lag. You see an expression you like and press the shutter. My best kiddie picks came this way. Getting in close also helps with this method.

Cheers
