Hey folks,

I've been looking into getting a Bessa but have a couple questions to solve my dilemma.

I plan on either buying a Bessa R with a 35mm and if I really like it, perhaps upgrade when the R4M comes out. I plan to do this because I really want to shoot wide lenses and the R4M seems the way to go for M mount. Taking this route makes it lighter on my pockets as well.

OR, would you guys really recommend spending a little extra and buying a R3M with the 40 Nokton and just not wait for the R4M.

I have the 35/1.7 and 40/1.4 and have shot with both. The 35/1.7 is a fine lens, but it is now with my sons kit and the 40/1.4 is on my Leica M6 a large percentage of the time. When it's not, there is either a 15/4.5 or a 105/2.5 on it.

The R is a great camera to start with, but if you know you are going to want some M glass, I would skip it.

Spring is a long way off, lots of great shots lost between now and then. I would go with the R3M and the 40. Wait till you grow your stable of glass before you jump to a second body, which IMHO should be a R4A then.
