I was at my local Apple dealer today and he showed me an iPhoto hardcover photoalbum.

I was really impressed by the overall quality of the book. Stunning.

So, now I want one. Or even more than one.

Ofcourse Apple's own album looks stunning (they used their best ones nou doubt and might even tweaked them a little, who wouldn't) but how does it look with 'real life' photos? Just as good? And what about b/w photo's?

I ordered 10 or 15 last year and gave them as gifts for Christmas, I shoot alot of family stuff, film and digital. The books are expensive but the results are really pretty good. Colors tend to shift to a little lower saturation, the few black and white images I included look good with very little color cast if any.

If you tint your BW images slightly it shouldn't be a problem.

The quality of the book is really nice, the cover image is pasted on though and has a tendency to want to peel on a couple I sent, just a dab of glue fixes it.

As far as I know iPhoto albums will not print 4X6 crops. Everything is resized to digital camera format.

If this is not true please tell me how to get iPhoto to stop cropping my album photos.

compared to mypublisher?

compared to mypublisher?

How is the quality/pricing compared to mypublisher (which Costco discounts on occasion) ?

Would any of these be good for a wedding album ?

I have to get togethor to decide a wedding album with my cousin (I was the photographer for her wedding) ... so is this a decent solution?

MyPublisher I think has better quality, and you can print them from Iphoto on a Mac, but for some reason they look cheaper. Best to use Windows. (I can't believe I just said that!)

I just go the big book from MyPublisher and I think that with a little work it could be a real solution for family and friends photo books. I took candids at my wife's family wedding with my CL and Tmax100 and turned it into a book.

The prints are nice and neutral, but the paper stock is not as bright white as say Enhanced matte or Glossy. Some prints that looked OK on my monitor and Epson 2200 prints got a bit muddied up. I will make sure that I have the contrast just a shade high to compensate.

The MyPublisher was way better than the Kodak book I made for my son's first birthday. Nice heavy paper, no hole in the front cover. I would almost like the option to skip the front picture and just have text foiled onto it, or have a dust cover.

MyPublisher had a 2 for 1 special going with the code "summer241". Made it a cinch to try since the married couple got one and so did I.

I look forward to doing a color book.

I wonder how to get a better deal

I wonder how to get a better deal

The deal seems to be one book free, so if I ordered 10 books, I'd only get 1 free.

I wonder if I could sign up 5 times, ordering 2 books each time to get a better deal??
