For sentimental reasons, I'm looking for it. I think you bought it as a parts/repair item after I managed to accidentally unscrew the front group with a "it never binds" B+W filter. I'm almost 100% sure it was an RFFer.
It was a black one with a silver front.
Thanks!

I sold mine in 1998. Definitely one of the dumber things I have done.

OK, I give up.
With lenses like the ZM 21/2.8 and Voigtlander 21/1.8 easily available,
why would you want the Kobe ?
I saw the nostalgia post in the classifieds, its just a bit difficult to believe, please explain.

The guy who sold me his CV lenses, a 21 f4 and 35 f2.5 PII said he didn't like them and wanted something older, like 1950's Leica lenses. So maybe there is some qualities that modern lenses just don't have.
For me, it's whatever I can afford I'm thrilled with. My standards start with price as the top qualifier.

The short answer is irrational desires. I actually have no idea whether it will work on my Typ 240.
The long story of how I came to import these is a completely different thread (expensive, very low margin, with aspects that drive OCD people like me nuts). I did it mainly because it was the only way at the time (2001-2002) to buy one lens. Because I had no idea at the time that they were no longer being produced (a critical supplier went belly up), I only kept one 21mm lens. And when that got screwed up (or so I thought), I sold it for a song. I had no idea that being based on a Komura barrel design (I strongly suspect it was the same designer), all you had to do is put it on a collimator (or much later, an M camera with live view), apply the Loctite, and screw in the front group until it came into focus. Or have a spacer made.
In terms of the performance, it's not the ultra-sharp, distortion-free (but color-correcting hell) exercise of the ZM 21/4.5. Nor does it have the eye-burning sharpness and contrast of a 21-35 Dual Hexanon when calibrated. I just liked the way the Kobalux pictures looked. The ZM 2.8 and the CV 1.8 have their charms, but they don't have the affective pull.
