I was running a search for threads regarding the lens above and you had nothing but praises for this lens.
Also you mentioned that you might get one yourself...... off course this is all dating back to 2008.
Was wondering did you end up getting the lens?
Looking for a wide lens. Tried 28mm but too close to 35. Lusting for 21mm SA but too expensive and it may just be too wide. Compromise would be 24/25mm. Zeiss is too big. The Leica elmar 24mm looks to be a good size. Of course there is the snapshot skopar.
p/s looking through your flickr page, i guessing you did not. Thought i'd ask anyways.

I decided against it. It is a very good lens, probably the "best in class" of medium speed 24/25's - but I have lot of others in that range. I think the 25f2.8 Zeiss is close in performance (though bigger). I still have not "written off" the 24f3.8 - but one has to come to me at a really good price. Unlikely though - as Leica keep pushing the price up.
If you are going to be using it as an occasional wide - not a "prime" wide - look at the Voigtlander Color Skopar 25f4 in M-mount (coupled) - it holds its own among these lenses in most aspects - and very little distorsion.
