digital film combo camera

Well, I am not sure why, maybe it is physically impossible, but why isnt some one out there making a combo film/digital camera, I dont mean a separate digital back, but one that is integrated, so you could switch a button and take a digital pic and switch back and do film. It cannot be that difficult. Imagine if the M6 and M8 were combined.

I bet you're right, Keith, as the result would be rather similar to an M7 bolted to an M8 baseplate-to-baseplate. The minimal change might involve a sliding double back.

Should be easier with a leaf-shutter SLR, where one could build a digital sensor into the base, and flip the mirror forward 90 degrees to reflect the image onto the sensor ... or raise it 45 deg as usual to image onto the film.

I'm just not sure that the distinction between imaging on film or digitally is something one would find important to change in the field.
