How many of you use digital for color & shoot mostly B&W film? That seems to be the direction I am heading, but wanted input. Thanks.

I'm only recently getting back into film after not shooting film since I was a teenager with a Kodak shooting 110 film.

At one time my father used to shoot slides, so I decided to give that a try first. Man, when you see that 3-D effect of a great slide [that get's flattened out when you scan it :( ], you get hooked.

I rarely process my RAW files as B&W from my DSLR. I've shot several print and slide color rolls through my Canon EOS-3 SLR, and two color print and one B&W roll through my just acquired R3M 250 Jahre w/50mm f/2 Heliar (my first rangefinder). Just got the B&W prints back today, and wow did I love the look. I cannot imaging being able to duplicate the look digitally without spending mega-bucks for the Leica Monochrome and spending months figuring out how to post-process the files properly.

So far color prints have been so-so for me, but I'm about to try several rolls of Fujifilm Pro 400H. Maybe I'll like the results better than with the Kodak Ultramax 400 I've used so far.

If you haven't tried shooting slides, you may want to consider it. I have not seen a digital file that I have taken that I've been as pleased with compared to my better shots on slides.

I may go the route of DSLR for color, film SLR for color slides and prints, and R3M for B&W.
