man, you got me so excited for a moment! But yeah, Voigtlander is just a name now that gets stuck on whatever. Almost always, the cheapest digicams in shops in Germany will be Voigtlander, never seen them in England so maybe it's just a German market thing.

Nothing new here, guys. Ringfoto in Germany owns the Voigtlander name. They licensed it to Cosina for the Bessa cameras and so on, but not exclusively. They've been selling these Chinese-made digital cameras for years. They have nothing to do with Cosina, and Cosina is not involved in their labeling or retailing - that's strictly Ringfoto in Germany - who ALSO sells Cosina's Voigtlander-branded cameras.
