And yes, transparencies scan VERY well with my "lesser" model Epson 2450. There's an example or two on this thread, where I've scanned transparencies from my Agfa Isolette and Yashica Mat, using the 2450 at the relatively low resolution of 800dpi. Even with the degradation of downsizing and saving to Web, there is still a hint of the scanning clarity of medium format slides. http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23456

That's such a good deal on a 4870 I just had to buy one myself. Now I'll finally be able to scan in all my medium format stuff. Hooray!
