Is anyone running a 5400 scanner under MacOs Catalina ?
I am thinking of updating my software,and as far as I can see Vuescan works under Catalina,but I just wanted to check that the scanner will also function.

Get Vuescan software. Works perfectly on Catalina with my Dimage Scan MultiPro.Will also work with your excellent Dimage 5400. Dont fool around with drivers, just download software and plug in the scanner. Then you start Vuescan and it will recognize your scanner.

I agree with Michael. I have used VueScan for nearly 20 years with a variety of scanners, including the 5400, both on a PC and now on a Mac running Catalina. It takes a bit of learning, but it is a great piece of software and the interface is the same regardless of what scanner or type of computer you are using. Hamrick, who makes is, is very helpful if you run into problems

In theory you should be able to install Virtual Machine software (VM Ware Fusion or Parallels), load Windows XP, and install the original KM 5400 software. I tried this approach. Window XP ran fine, but the hardware / software combination would not recognize the KM 5400. I eventually gave up, but someone with better skills than mine should be able to get this to work.
