Dear all,
Would anyone know of any online resources/diagrams/photos/instructions on how to disassemble a Nikon F AI'd lens? Principally to lubricate the focus helical.
I picked up a AI'd 24mm that is a bit sticky on the focus helical.

Personally, when I need my very nice Nikon 50/1.4 lens overhauled I took it to my local Nikon-authorized repair shop and had them do it for about $50. It came back operating just as good as it did when it was new... and I didn't ahve any worry that I'd get it apart and never get it back together again correctly.
But if you are intent on taking it apart, I think you need to start by spinning off hte trim ring around the front lens element. Good luck.... but I sincerely suggest you spend the money!

The lens only cost me $60, so I'll just live with the slightly sticky throw.

Each Nikon lens is different in its assembly - for instance the 50mm f/1.4 is a joy to work on while something like the 55mm f1.2 is a complete nightmare. Also the differences between a NAI, Ai/Ai-S are huge. Here's how to disassemble a Nikon 50mm f/1.4 NAI lens (please thank the author of this page if it is of some help for you):

The other portion of fixing lenses is having the right tools - the actual fix usually isn't that bad, but having the right tools is critical. You'll definately need some camera specific helicoid grease if you want to relube your lens (otherwise other grease will dissolve and spill onto the aperature blades. I forgot where I got mine, but if you're serious about fixing the lens let me know and I can find the link.
