Use a Camera
Does anyone make their own camera tools and if not, where do you buy from? I've adapted some dividers which I use to dismantle lenses but they're not ideal...

I make my own rubber lens ring removal, just blocks of rubber really. The majority of tools came from various seller on ebay and microtech IIRC.

I usually use pointy scissors as a lens spanner in conjunction with a small shifter. A rubber band between the handles to keep them open or around the pointy end if you are removing an 'outer' ring. I leave the mental images to you.
A rubber jar-lid gripper is a boon too. Use it with a suitable PVC tube and screw out those stubborn lens rings with no notches. Carpet underlay rubber works well here, too.
Screwdrivers are cheap so you can grind down and sharpen as needed and not feel guilty at the cost should it turn out you have an 'orphan' - ie useful for nowt else!
