This post is actually not necessarily related to Minolta Hi Matic - many cameras of that era had similar cases. However since in this particular case it was for my Hi Matic CS I decided to post it here.
Last weekend I restored an old half case (bottom part of an ever ready case) of my Minolta Hi Matic CS. The old fake leather deteriorated and got sticky. I used the old elements to cut new ones, recovered the cardboard templates with new fake leather, re-stiched and re-glued them all together.
Not that I had any need to have a half case for this small camera. It was just laying in the box with some donor cameras in my basement and I was looking for an relaxing activity.
I'm pretty happy with the result.
