I've seen some photos of this DIY 617 but never found any information on it till the other day I was looking around and did a google search on the image and it found the website it was originally on.
I thought I would post it here because I think that this DIY 617 should be shared I think it's absolutely beautiful.
Is anyone able to identify some of the parts that he used?

There are many popular conversion lens camera with a single power play. But this play there is a big difference, and this is the users own hands, making a camera, a width of 617 medium format camera, really amazing. The following article is transferred to the rear to see.
Master Wu first met four years ago. Master Wu found that time I bought a Schneider 90XL lens, I think Master Wu is a 4X5 with a home, just as he chatted up. Master Wu told me that he bought this lens is not used in the 4X5, he wanted to own a 6X17 camera. I told him that there are many ready 617 to choose from, your point has Lin good husband, knights, there are cheaper Young, FOTOMAN, Pan Fu to, etc., can choose their own do more strenuous, time-consuming. Master Wu said he liked photography for many years, particularly prefer wide-format photography, is now available on the market 617 camera is not his ideal, he wanted to follow their own ideas to make one. I asked you if there are more proficient machinery or friends to help, he said no. I asked what tools do you have cameras ah, he said he just bought a welding machine, no other devices. Wu said he soon retired teacher wants to do a good like 617 cameras take photos after retirement. I do not quite understand the mechanical industry, but I do not seem to feel welders seem suitable for 617, I can only tell myself Master Wu camera no small difficulty, Master Wu said that I like to do it yourself, you can do some of it as perfect as possible . I can do is just some 617 Master Wu official information of the camera.
After about a year to see Master Wu again. He initially finished snout and part of the fuselage, better than I imagined, the body is made of stainless steel, is made by welding two elbows into snout, then polished, lens protection ring also manufacture finished fuselage over-piece system is not yet done, Master Wu again and I said what his next idea, and I feel the next difficulty may be greater.
Two days before the Master Wu phoned me and said camera finally done, done about six months, and has been in his own improvement, said to take over for me to see. Long time no see him, I was going to see how he's doing like 617. Master Wu told me after the meeting, this 617 manufactured by more than three years, he was born in 1940, he finally gave in his own 60th birthday gift for a favorite. This 617 exterior looks, though still a little rough, but the function is really close to the camera manufacturer's original intention Master Wu. Spent more than three years building his own a lot of people think is not worth 617, but do something you enjoy is the happiest.
Camera functions are as follows:
1.6X7,6X9,6X12,6X15,6X17 can luffing can midway amplitude.
2. winder automatic positioning.
3. roll film camera body positioning and shutter linkage, if not to roll sheet positioning, body shutter does not release (if it is going to release the shutter can be used on the lens)
4. If you do not dial multiple exposure button, not twice fuselage above the shutter release.
3. Built-in dual video overlay rangefinder.
4. Built-in 90 with horn viewfinder, viewfinder automatically rotating horn button horn. With diopter adjustment.
5. shutter, lens mount, body interlock shutter button, the camera does not insert shading Nabuxialai flapper, flapper plug body can not release the shutter button, the camera is not installed on the card can not pull it down.
6. The body has a shutter button, there are two on the lens.
7. The locking device has full aperture button

Holy crap, he actually made a coupled rangefinder?
Could that be the only RF-coupled 617 ever made? Very neat.

Looks like he build a hotshoe rangefinder into the body, no idea if it is really coupled. But the dials to the left of the viewfinder make me think it can shoot different formats. That would be really interesting.

Schneider Super Angulon XL 90mm lens
Linhof Technorama Viewfinder
What is that analog dial on there? I can't say I have seen anything like that before
Bye the way I am not any type of camera pro I just thought this thing was very neat and had to share it with someone

An amazing piece of freehand work with some neat ideas.
But it looks terrible - a view tainted by the a lifetime of precision machined , cast or molded manufactured goods.

Ingenious and cool-looking. But it definitely looks a camera Philip K. Dick would have designed in one of his scifi novels. Very steampunk.

Really awesome project. I am in love.
Funny that it says "Redbull" stamped into it. I guess that was his favorite drink?
I want to say that it looks like it was based off of a Fuji GW690 but I am not so sure.

I was thinking the same thing about the redbull, maybe that's how many cans he had to drink while he made it.
