I had originally posted this in the FSU forum,
but it was suggested I re-post it here.
It was then reposted to correct the headline and in
doing so I accidentally deleted comments. Sorry guys.)
Right now, prices on the bay for the FISON shade that fits the
Elmar lens are ranging from $75 on up to $250 .
If you have an unused Leica filter for the lens, here's a cut rate solution:
The glass filter element was removed (unscrew the retaining ring from the back) and clean the metal exterior.
The 7/16" X 1 1/2" plastic tube tube was glued to the step of the filter mount with Locktite brand adhesive sealant, and then wrapped with black photo tape. Inside was sprayed (can) flat black.
Here it is on a Barnack clone in my gallery:

I actually tried pharmacy (pill) bottles, ended up with the inner tube from a talc stick pre-shave (poudre pre-rasage) made in Switzerland for Remington electric shavers.
