First of all I love the "view" of the 35mm lens, it seems to open up a space and area just right. I've used a 28 with an SLR and I like the tremendous area of coverage and have been thinking about the CV 28 for the Leica mount and it would be useable on my Zorki 6. Is there a compelling reason to have it in addition to the 35? Or would I use it once or twice and relegate it to being in the camera bag and just come out once in a while. My style of shooting is mostly buildings and street and landscapes. Sometime I like to take portraits of people but I use an 85 or 90.Any input would be valuable, TIA.

Although I have both 28 and 35mm lenses, I haven't done a lot of buildings shots with either one. However, I've got to believe that the 28 is a much easier lens to use when concerned about getting the entire building into the shot. Others with more experience can comment on how true this is in practice.

For me, personally, the 28 is actually easier to use. Still difficult for me as I'm a 50mm kind of shooter, especially with my CL. OTOH, the CL is half my problem; I can't seem to deal with the 40mm FL - it's neither fish or fowl for me and 35 is just too close to it. So instead I've ended up with 28/50/90 as my primary kit (since the CL finders whole area does the 28 FOV really quite well.

It took a very long time using my J-12 and then 35/2.5 SC on my Kievs to get comfortable with the 35 FOV but I've been able to learn, as a result, the 28 FOV with much more ease. At this point I do not really miss my 35/2.5 but I think I'd deeply miss my Serenar 28/3.5...

Now, obviously, your milage will vary, but I'd still suggest a serious trial of the 28.
