If so, the 15mm finder that came with it is useless on your M8....but should work fine with my 12mm lens. Let me know if you would like to sell the finder.

Steve,
Voigtlander makes a 15mm finder for Digital cameras like the M8 and the R-D1. I think you can find these at Camera Quest.

Useless on the M8, perhaps, but still very useful on my Bessa L.

That's designed specifically for the 1.53 crop factor of the R-D1, so gives a FOV of around 23mm. The M8 has a crop factor of 1.3, so a 12mm lens will give a FOV around 16mm, so a standard 15mm finder should be close enough.

Exactly right, Ian.....and I would rather buy it used from someone who has no use for it - they are probably going to have to start offering lenses without finders at some point, people with R-D1's and M8's can't use the stock finders and need either the "D" finder for the R-D1 or a finder for a longer lens if they have an M8...
Maybe someday they will offer finders specifically for the M8...with the 1.33 crop

FWIW, I have a 15 and finder, the finder isn't really accurate for 15mm horizontally, it's actually closer to the 21mm FOV.

Wow - I didn't realize it was that tight! Are they all like that or did you get an unusual one (mislabeled 21mm finder, maybe?)

mine's marked 15mm, there are no framelines in this one so you use the finder edges but they are still tight, vertically it's good, just tight on the sides.
