[A correction is in order, thanks to Rafael: The title should have read `Tele-Elmar' and not `Tele-Elmarit.' I've changed it.]

Hi Guys!

Just curious... having I've seen quite a lot of posts related with the 90mm lenses. Does anybody like the 135 Tele-elmar? Pictures will be very much appreciated.

Do you mean the 135 Tele-Elmar or the 135 Elmarit? I don't think there ever was a 135 Tele-Elmarit.

If you mean the 135/2.8 Elmarit (with goggles), I have one and like it very much. Unfortunately, I don't have any photographs scanned to show you. But I really do like this lens. It's particularly nice for reasonably tight headshots. The lens is big and heavy. So I only take it out when I know that I will be using it. But, especially considering the low prices it commands these days, I think it's a real bargain.

Hi,
I must admit I hardly use my Tele elmar 135, but when I use it, it blows me away.
It is an awesome lens especially when you take into account the relative low price. I tend to use slr for anything longer than 90mm.
It is the most underrated lens in the Leica m line up.
Already wide open it is as good as it gets. Stopping down it will not improve very much. The story goes this lens has apo qualities. And that long before the marketing people high jacked the term "apo" for every lens which was corrected just a tiny bit more than the one before.
The head alone can be used on a visoflex and/or the bellows.
On a 0.58 Leica the frame is really getting very tiny. For me on a 0.72 it is oke but some people find the frame still too small. On a 0.85 or a M3 it really is great.

I have to agree with Michiel - this says it all.

I don't use mine that much but it is a great lens!

I have used the Tele-Elmar for years, and it is a fine lens. Here is a photo scanned from chrome, taken a couple years ago in
Wyoming. DR

that is a nice shot. must have been something to be there.

Oh, we are talking about the tele-elmar. I love it, and don't use it enough. I bought it when I had and M3, but sold the M3 almost a week later. The only other camera I have with 135 lines in the Hexar RF, but focusing it with that mag window is hard. I guess I could break out the accessory vf's but why.

Here is a shot with the lens

When I use the Tele-Elmar, I either use it on the M3, in order to get finder frames big enough to be able to compose in; or else I put it on the Visoflex II. You know, if you use the Viso on an M6 Classic or an MP, you can have metering! How's that for combining old and new?
