Does anyone know where I can find slip on lense covers that will fit over the hoods on the Contax lenses? I like to carry the camera ready to use but I also worry about the glass being protected. I have seen them somewhere but not sure where.

Well, I assume you know about the Contax cover (GK-54) that is designed for all the hoods? You can find them on ebay:

or KEH has them sometimes. You can also find them at obscure camera shops that carried Contax and has leftover stock. An alternative would be to get a plastic cover in the right diameter. A line of lens caps that my local store (Glazer's) carries comes in diamters in 1mm increments.

I found one at ritzcam.com(NOT Ritz Camera). they have a lot of hard-to find stuff for Contax, Leica, etc.

Problem solved. I went on ebay and sure enough on one of the first pages was a set of three hoods and a slip on cover. Fortunately it was a buy now listing for about $24.00. They are on their way. I don't have a hood for my 45mm so it works out fine. Thanks to all for your help.

57mm Schneider-Kreuznach plastic slip on black cap fits the contax G hoods like a glove.

If anyone finds themselves in need of the contax slip on G series cover, hop on to Ebay.de There are literally hundreds going through the german market as alot of old stock was cleared there. Just use bable fish to translate and your away...
