if Luigi Cresenzi is on holiday? I e-mailed him last week and he has not responded for a quote. I e-mailed PhotoVilliage and didn't get response either.

I just received a Case from him last week. Yes, he is on holiday and does respond to www.webmaster@leicatime.com

PhotoVillage had one of his cases in stock so I ordered from there. However I am going to order one of his soft-touch releases (the ones made of stainless steel). Has anyone used Luigi's soft-releases? How well do the black painted ones hold up? Also concave or convex?

Did you by any chance order it yesterday around 2 or 3pm? I was in the shop buying the M8 and the 35 1.4 (I just put all my canon stuff on ebay and am switching over but that's another story...), and had the Luigi case in my hand when the salesman got a call and then yanked it out of my hand telling me it had just been sold.
Hope you enjoy it if that was you, very nice case, would have looked great on my m8

Got it today. Gad, what a piece of work! Luigi truly is a craftsman!

The best camera is one that still works!
I was very fortunate in getting a half case for my M8 with deluxe strap for $125.00 out of our classifieds. A huge improvement to the camera in a lot of ways ... the screen is a distraction now taken care of by the domed flap and it just looks nicer!

In terms of comfort/ergonomics, how big of an improvement is the little bump on his cases over having no case/no grip? I purchased the grip because I don't feel comfortable holding it without, but would rather get his standard case and leave the grip off.

My favourite Luigi case is the Grip Case ... the second hand case I got was only the standard but stll better than the bare camera which feels in danger to me without a winder arm!

The Luigi grip case add a lot of stability to my M8. I will be on a quick jaunt to San Francisco tomorrow and will be able to give a full field report.

I agree that the Luigi grip adds a lot and makes me feel better when holding my slippery M8.
If I see someone else walking around with an M8 in San Francisco I'l be sure to wave.

Do you have the grip version or non-grip version?
