Does this count as street photography?

Actually I invented the genre the other day, it is called "shear photography", but feel free to use it as I have not copyrighted or patented it as of yet :D

Actually Todd someone beat you to it...Doug/Gene/someone else posted one of those barber-shop photos a few months ago but can't seem to find it...

Dark Indian barber shop. Not realy a shop, actually. More a wooden framework clad with sheets of plastic. But with all the furnishings a barber shop needs, including those old-style barber chairs. When he put his rasor to my neck I could just imagine how easily (but soooo comfortably) he could slit it. :)

My little girl got her head shaved (it's a Mongolian tradition). She wasn't so pleased when she saw the result. But now her hair has grown and she no longer looks like a monk or a boy, and she's soooooo happy about that! :)

I got the best haircut, shave and facial pampering ever. All for the stunning amount of 25 rupees (half a euro). I felt like a new man when I came off the chair.

your barbershop photos are better than mine, but I bet you got to look through the viewfinder. Also my barber is camper. He's called Antoine.

I have another where I'm in focus and the brushes our out but I haven't scanned it yet. Not sure which I prefer.

Richard has it right; I did post a three lady barber shots one day. Here's one of them:

At least one other was posted in a thread, not the gallery, I think as a self-portrait. Here's one other that might not have been posted before, of a couple of carrot-tops...

This is part of an on-going project centered on people doing their work. I'd say there's a relationship with street-photography in this. And "shear photography" is a strand of that! :)

Yes, it's true,I have been outed, Doug is the original Father of "Shear Photography", my meager example is an homage to his work :D :D :D
