Hi will the domke f5xb take a g2 or canon rf with lens a r2a with lens and a couple of spare lenses.I need to know before i buy because im buying from the US so a return is not an option from the UK.Thanks
 
That sounds like a lot of stuff for the 5xb. I tend to not want to overload my bags, one body and a couple lenses is enough for me in mine. maybe 2 bodies with one lens each, and there will be room for couple other lenses too if you want, but that is a lot from my point of view.
 
too much for comfort in a 5xb.
i'm with rover, one body with lens, another lens or 2 and film and that's it.
or 2 bodies with lens attached and film.
it's not the easiest to work out of, zippered narrow opening.
it's the perfect bag for body/lens/film.

You would think i would have learned a lesson having had three bodies and lenses stolen from the boot of my car a couple of years ago.But i do like to shoot colour with my G2 and b+w with my Bessa so therefore carry both and also two wide lenses.
To joe and anyone else looking for bag have just come across these bags on the auction site and at $35-$50 they are a steal (SAFROTTO) is the name.Now i have a dilema.
 
safrotto are very popular here on rff.
i would have tried one but can never find one at a good price AND at a good shipping cost.
i just got a domke f6 to use with the r4m, 5 small lenses and the ricoh grd, plus film...and it's near perfect. i used it earlier today for the first time and knew instantly that this bag is a keeper.
 
will check out warehouse for a domke but i like the look of the safrotto and the uk shipping cost is not to bad.
 
Arrr Joe just checked out the domke f6 it looks a superb bag now i will have to decide.Help:bang:
 
I have an F6 too, and it is a great shooting bag. Very easy to work out of. I am even thinking of getting an F2, I prefer large bags with the intent of carrying less gear in them than they can handle. It just seems to make working out of a bag easier for me.
 
The F4AF might work, if you don't mind things being a bit tight- 2 single cmpts will fit, if you have lens cases for the extra glass? Tight.
Rover I love my F2- it is my main bag these days. Three bodies with lenses and a few extra lenses plus all the film I need. I couldn't work without the end pockets for my fresh film stashes. Not too heavy either (I carried an F7 with 2 F4 bodies and LOTS of glass for years- so nothings heavy anymore!). I have the 803 and the F4AF also- The XPAN lives in the F4AF most of the time, and the 803 is for 'travelling light' with a single body and an extra lens. I tend to carry this one when going out with the family for a day where there won;t be much snapshooting but some potential for my shots, and on those days of errands till you drop that are a feature of life in a rural area.
 
The F-5XB will hold two rangefinder-sized bodies only if they have short, near-pancake lenses. It has three comaprtments with moveable valcro dividers. The third compartment can hold two lenses, but again they would have to be short, for both to fit. If only one camera is being carried, the divider can be moved to accomodate the camera with a somewhat larger lens. The 803 is roomier for the cargo you describe, while still having the slim profile similar to the F-5XB.
 
The F5XB will take an M4-P, a CLE, 28/3.5, 40/2 and 90/4 plus a couple filters and 4-6 rolls of film for carrying, but it's a bit of a pig to work out of when loaded up that much. As long as you're shopping, look at Domke's J803, which a lot of RF shooters like.
 
When I go "light" I take an FX5B with a Leica body with lens (either 35 or 28), and two additional lenses (50 & 90) plus the SF20 flash. That leaves pretty little room for film, unless I carry the camera with lens around my neck all the time. In that case I could carry an additional lens... or more film.

Have you looked into the Lowepros? I have one Nova 3 AW that carries a nice amount of film, two bodies with lenses, three additional lenses and my SF20 flash; it has nice pockets for filters and batteries and rolls of film, and a waterproof cover that you pull from a pocket in the bottom of the bag (it gets pulled up to wrarp up the bag in case of rain).

Just another choice! :)
 
I bought the Tamron version of this bag at National Camera in Minnesota for $19.99. It does not have the belt loop for waist pack use but the bag is good. I used it for a Leica CL with 40mm, 90mm, and CV 25mm with finder. There was still enough room for a couple more rolls of film, a filter and an Agfa Isolette II. It is a great travel bag for that amount of gear and all you need is some tape over most of the velcro and it is fine. I could carry it for hours and not feel bothered by the weight, and it felt secure as well. By the way, I have addressed this in another thread, but DO NOT BUY THIS F-5XB FROM ABE'S. You will receive a plastic piece of junk that is nothing like this bag.

the bag has three sections, depending on the lens on the camera, 2 bodies are doable, however the third will not be holding several lenses.
the F6 alittle bit smaller is probably a better choice, it also has a zipper front that will hold 20 rolls of film has four pouches for lenses and you can add another pouch to hold 2 bodies. the small lenses of the Voightlander could get the rear caps glued together and easily stack 2 lenses per pouch [glued so they don't bang around on them selves] two bodies and 6-8 lenses will fit fine

No. get the small satchel instead. ( I own both)
 
when I go "light" I go with MP fixed w/ 35mm Cron, 50mm Lux in cargo pants pocket, and several rolls of film in other pocket.
 
I have an f6 (Little bit smaller) and its the best bag I have, but I like to carry a camera with me every day and to go lighter I was thinking about the fx5b to or the Crumpler The Daily S (Europe Site - Didn't saw this one on Australian or American Site). It is a bit new edge look but seems very well built... and the insert for the camera can be removed!
