Since the last time I proclaimed that I was done, I did some trading away of a Leica CL with lens, and a Bessa R2 with a couple of lenses, for 2 Bronica RF645 cameras with normal lenses. Then recently there was the purchase of a Fuji GS645 MF folding camera and a CV40f1.4 lens.
The Bronicas are for increased technical quality over 35mm when a larger camera permits. The compact folding GS645 will live in my RF camera bag in a front pocket for times when a situation calls for MF. The CV40f1.4 lens was needed to replace a fast lens that was included in one of the aforementioned trades.
so, I'm done, again. No new gear on the horizon or on the radar for me.

Calling it quits is easy. I've done it 4 times now so I'm really getting the hang of it!

My stuff evolves. As for rangefinders, I think I am actually satisfied with what I have. A Zeiss Opton Sonnar and J-12 for my Kiev 4. I'm looking to replace my SLR with a TLR for portraits. I'd also like something that's at least 6x9 for landscapes of Iowa...most likely some kind of a view camera or monorail. At the moment, though, the Kiev suits me well.

I haven't bought any new gear for over two years and I feel fine.
I wouldn't mind selling a couple of items, though.

The R4a has me pretty satisfied. I am well, done? I don't know, but happy.

Happy to hear/read this ... I think that Cosina with quality/price of 40mm f:1.4
made something what Leica/Zeiss won't be able to do
GAS? What is it ... one more time I would like to say THANK YOU to all RFF people who had helped me ... and the list is looong ... if I ever take some good shots and earn the money there will be only one M mount lens on the list : something wiiide - 28mm f:2 I think.

It's good to hear, Frank! I think may be suffering from GAF (Gear Acquisition Fatigue). It's time to use the things I have hoarded.

There's some wonderful sense satisfaction that I feel in hearing someone succumb to a camera temptation. It makes no sense but maybe makes me feel better about my moments of weakness ;-) We all keep searching for the feeling of being done, n'est ce pas?

I doubt I'll ever be done- always something I'd like to try. Right now I'm looking for a T2, T3 or a CM to have in the day to day bag, something I can carry all the time and still make a big print from. The Rollei SE was supposed to be that camera, but I'm just not getting the hang of that one. Scale focus isn't my strong suit. The TVs can do this, but the quality isn't always good enough. So something small now is on my radar.
Beyond that, I'm not sure. I'm surely missing something long after all my recent sales & trades- another of those 'only after it's gone' moments. So something long may be next, but who knows what my eye will stumble upon???

Well, yeah, that is on the list I've been making in my head since I posted the above. An MP, A Nikonos (could be a lot of fun as I do try to live at the pond all summer), a .85 VF M7 (to go with whatever long lens(es
and...your XPAN Erik?
