The only way I could think of is to put it into film rewind, wind the film back one frame by looking at the little red dot that moves, take it out of rewind, and going forward one frame using the frame advance. Would that work?

When its put in rewind do you think you would be able to cock the shutter with out winding?
Your idea sounds like it could work but it might be a bit hit and miss
