My M5s need red dots!
I used to be subscribed to it... a long time ago, when I tried to read some of the essays. The photos were good, though... A lot of shots in a particularly American style; hard to define, but there were lots of images of suburbs and nothing of street photography.
At one point, I had to leave the country and much later I recycled the few copies I had. Boy, do I regret it...
Anyone here ever read it?

I do remember Double Take..
The only magazine I glance at these days is the British "Black & White Magazine"

I like that one too, but can't seem to find a website for subscribing - since I moved to NC, I can't find it on the newstand. Help?
I also like Shots, Amateur Photographer (also British) and Shutterbug.

http://www.shutterbug.com/
I am also quite fond of Lenswork.
http://www.lenswork.com/
If I could only have two, it would be Lenswork and AP. AP for Ivor Mantanle's articles on classic vintage cameras.
These are the best I've found so far...
If you have the website of B&W (not the US one), I'd love to have it?

My M5s need red dots!
Not long ago I found a website for Double Take (a Yahoo search for Double Take). It seems the magazine is in a temporary hiatus now, but they're trusting they'll be able to hit the stands soon, can't remember when, and they're inviting subscribers.
Now, I'm with PopPhoto, The Atlantic Monthly, Harper's and The Smithsonian. I do read what I can and I simply wonder if I can squeeze one more in...
Probably...

Hmmm, I used to read The 37th Frame. Sent off a couple bucks for a copy, liked it. Subscribed. That was the last I saw of my money or the magazine. Not that much money, so oh well, but dang. I liked the mag.

Funny, I was on that Rangefinder Mag site for the first time just a day or so back. The odd thing was I didn't find anything there on RF photography. It all seemed to be about digital SLR. Did I miss something?

Miracles Happen!!!

I told my wife about my Double Take woes... and she said she'd seen them in the basement, with all the old copies of magazines we have from maybe eight years back.
And there they were!

Now... these are issues from 1998 to 2000 (six or seven). This means that, when I had to leave the US to comply with my two-year requirement, I tossed the ones I had received. In other words, my subscription was still alive and I kept receiving them.
A quick glance (45 minutes) to the Summer 1998 issue granted me uninterrupted pleasure: an article about David Herodt, one of J. W. Booth accomplices (he tried to kill the vicepresident while booth killed Lincoln) based on his old portrait, a photo essay about kids surviving cancer, an article about Gene Smith's unfinished project on Pittsburgh... All the stuff laced with beautiful photographs in color and black & white.
God surely loves me...
