La Poste never ceases to amaze me! This time the packages was misdirected twice, delaying the delivery by five days (due to Easter holiday).

The DP3M comes with a lens cover that is different from the previous two DPMs, and works better in my opinion.

The tactile feel of the casing and/or buttons is different, but I have no idea why.

Bought from Lapetiteboutique, it comes with a free Franiec grip, and will of course be eligible for Sigma France's 300 euro rebate.

I love the 3D effect on this first try (converted with SPP, no PP):

The CV 75 viewfinder has considerable parallax. No Sigma VF option available as of yet.

With the CV, you have to use the dotted line (used for close distance) at all distances for a guide to the top of the frame, while the bottom of the frame extends well below the solid frameline on the bottom. Workable, but hardly ideal. Also my CV 75 VF is a bit loose in the hotshoe.

do it..DO IT....(voice from behind the curtain) :D

I figure that 'eventually' the price of the 3M may come down to what I paid for the 2M. Then it would be very hard to resist.

I've heard the DP6M will come with a 300mm equivalent focal length lens. :p

Your mean :p

Sigma USA does not have a sale on it yet. Still at $999. How do u like frantic grip on it?

Probably pick one up when it goes on sale.

Great! That means the DP5M will come with that 21 (or 24) that Gary and I have been waiting for!

(The DP4M is thought to be zoom).

Frantic grip, huh? I like that. When I first saw his name was Franiec, I thought of calling it the maniac grip. But seriously, it adds grip, is very low profile, has a similar tactile feel to the body, and does not block anything (including supposedly the RRS L plate should you choose to add that later).

I love them and have them now on each of the DP series, 1M, 2M and now the 3M.

You guys could always try to work out something with a friend in France to get the rebate. ;)

Tres Cooool...Yummy good color & bokeh

Just waiting for the price to come down like the DP2m

I can't wait to try the DP3M for candid portraits. I LOVED the 75 on film M cameras.

So if you can get a 75mm finder for the DP3M courtesy of CV ... what does one use for the DP2M. I notice that B&H stock the finder for the DP2 but that's 41mm equivalent, not 45mm. Or is that as close as you can get?

Keith, Sigma make a finder for the DP2M (VF21), and one for the DP1M (VF11).

I saw somebody on some forum somewhere (I've got a bad case of 'forum blur') who did a comparison with the Sigma VF, the CV 40 VF, and a panasonic VF. I'd get the Sigma cuz it's smallest.

Could never find the vf21 so ended up using a rollei 40 ovf. The vf11 was sold everywhere.

Outside of the cv75... There are the various 35-xx ovf from Nikon rf, canon rf , etc. that may have a 75 setting.

U can take a take a 50 ovf and mask out for 75 using drafting outline tape. I think u can find them as thin as around 1/10 of an inch.

Here are a couple of portraits. The light this evening was pretty horrible, but I couldn't wait to take advantage of my GF coming by to pick up some laundry I did for her to try out the DP3M. I'm particularly interested in using this camera for candid portraits.

These two photos were on a tripod. Taken at medium resolution, converted in SPP and PP'ed with Color Efex 4 and Silver Efex 2 in LR4.

The resolution is so high, I had no hesitation to add grain.

What do people think of the skin tone?

VF21 and VF11 were made for DP1 and DP2, those are not new finders. I also do believe that Ricoh/Sigma/Voigltander finders comes from the same producer (I have or had finders from all three brands).

I think they are all made by Cosina. Indeed, all of the external finders, except Leica's, are made by Cosina, too, aren't they? Panasonic, Olympus, Zeiss, Ricoh, Sigma...all Cosina, I believe.
