I just bougth a DR summicron, but don't have the eyes. When I move the focus ring over to the close focus side, it won't move. Do the eyes unlock this, or is there a problem with the lens?

Yes, once mounted, the close focus is unlocked.

Thanks for that!
Next question, how good is the lens at close range? I'm thinking of selling my SLR, as I rarely use it, I've only kept it for the very occasional bit of macro......mainly just pics for ebay anyway....Will the DR summicron cut it?

Well, 50mm focusing to 19" can do some macro work. Depends on what you do.

Drop me a PM if you're in the market for the goggles. I have an extra one.

I have found that if you use the DR Cron on an M43 camera, no need for goggles. Just turn the focusing ring to the 1m mark, press hard on the little button on the top and (at the same time) lift the focus ring over the notch so that it goes into close focus mode.
The act of mounting the goggles is the same as pressing the little button.

the Summicron DR is not the same without the goggles. Do look for a proper one (there are 2 kinds, so it needs to be the adequate one) and get it, you won't regret. This lens is delicious.
