Bought the E-PL1 3 days ago. Here are a couple of ISO 1600 images taken Thursday evening at a local Art Walk.

Thanks for posting these samples! What's your impression of the camera? Have you owned any other m4/3 cameras and,if so, how does this compare?
Enjoy your new camera. I really like the form factor, similar to the Pany GF-1 but with in-body stabilization.

I really enjoy the camera so far. Others may find the heavy menu diving a pita but it doesn't bother me. This is the first m4/3 camera that I've owned and I can't wait to get the as yet unavailable electronic viewfinder. Here's an ISO 400 image. Thanks for posting these samples! Ditto. I am really enjoying the E-P1. The menus are a little mystifying at the beginning--the manual does not really help and the Olympus nomenclature is confusing. But once you get using the camera, it really is not that bad. You can get to many settings more than one way--the menu, a button, through the OK button. The camera can be nicely customized.

Just received my EP-2 and the menu system was initially very daunting!!! However, after a while you get used to it. Spend some time watching Brian Mosley's 9 videos of him going through the menu system and explaining them is well worth your time.

This is EP-2 specific, but I assume that it will be virtually the same for EP-1 and similar to EP-L1 owners.
Do it once, do it well......

Ray, did you purchase your camera locally? If so where? I live in Orange County and want to play with one before deciding.
Thanks

I'm interested in knowing the same thing. I'm from Riverside so your shots of the Mission Inn and CMP are very recognizable.
Would love to go play with one in a store before I took the plunge.

Nice shots! I am consistently surprised by the pictures I am seeing come out of this little camera.
I too recently purchased the e-pl1. I have very little to compare it to digitally since this is the first digital camera I have used other than little hundred dollar snap-shooters at parties.
My initial impressions were kind of a letdown in the build quality, but only because my main cameras are the leica and Nikon fm3a. I am used to that weight. After I got over the plastic/light weight issue I was overjoyed when I got home and uploaded my first few shots onto the computer without developing/scanning film. I am still very new to this digital world.
I purchased Aperture 3 and I am learning to use it along with the new pen. It will not recognize the Raw files but I think it will soon since it does recognize ep-1 and e-p2 files.
I find the menu no problem. I have figured out most things I want to adjust without reading the manual but plan on looking them up to make sure I am using the camera efficiently.
Keep posting pictures Wray....They look great!

Some 100% crops for those that are interested. These are all JPEGs straight out of the camera with no PP on the computer.

coelacanth, I never thought I'd say this but...I like the cat photo
I have to go back and check on my ISO 1600 pics to see how they look. Yours look nice and would print well at 8x10.

Wow!! First set of images are good, but show more noise than an RD1 (assuming JPGs out of camera). Later ones look almost as good (noise processing?).
Looks like this one, like the EP1 and EP2 beat out the lumix 4/3s which seem to get noisy at 400.
Very interesting!!

Well, Dufus here just discovered that he (me) has had the camera set on -2/3 of an f-stop. So, my pics have all been underexposed! I'll have to post some properly exposed high ISO shots in the future!
