E6 and other chems in Oz

I am looking for suppiers in Australia (cant get this shipped from overseas as far as i know?)for E6 (6 step or bath) chemicals, i have an ATL machine and want to put it to use. i can get Tentenal 3 bath localy (but cant remember their pricing, on the high side i think) but not the 6 bath....i did ask them to see if they could order some for me but they have never bothered to get back to me

i notice Vanbar in Melbourne has Kodak E6 kits for $151 (not sure what it costs to post to Adelaide) but is that on the steep side as well? considering Camulet in the US sell it for $62...even allowing for currency and adding on something for shipping the difference between the two appears way over the top

Sorry Andrew, can't offer you any specific advice other than have you checked with Photographic Wholesalers in Hutt St?. I've found buying anything retail in Oz completely over the top even from Vanbar. Better to import via the net. Good to know there's a few of us RFF's in Adelaide. Maybe sometime we should organise a South Oz get together.

I've noticed that liquid chemicals in the US seem to be restricted to ground shipping which is maybe to do with internal regulations and not international. I just had some Rodinal sent from Germany and there was no problem but Freestyle will only ship it via ground. Maybe you should consider a European supplier?

nah i have only asked them in passing quite some time back...i asked L&P, they (him) are reasonably keen to keep film going and just about the only shop left still selling used equipment inc enlargers etc..Photo. Wholesalers used to be my first stop once upon a time but since they got bought out by Diamond photographics (nothing more than a digital supermarket!) i have found them less and less helpful with film related ....everthing i am afraid, hope it was just my experiance at the time...

i dont mind importing overseas through the net,,if , through the maze of interent searches i can find somewhere that can ship here.

when the US suppliers say ground does thet mean not overseas...i dont care if i have to wait a while.

as for your choice for chemicals, vanbar seems the australian option as most of these chemicals won't be shipped from US. is it possible to buy chemicals and mix them yourself? i know it works for b&w dev but not sure for e6.

as far as i know there is no option to mix E6 from dry pack...B/W is good that way if you need the shelf life and shipping advantages

hehe sounds like we are getting a gathering! Alan's Pint of Coopers is looking smaller all the time!
