As you may know, a couple of fellow RFF members and I recently had a very unpleasant experience buying an R-D1 from a scamming seller. Long story short, most of us managed to get our money refunded and continued on our search for an R-D1.

In my search for one, I managed to find a NEW R-D1s from Matsuiyastore; a seller I have bought before and trust for his honesty and service. So, I paypaled for the R-D1s and had it shipped to our office in Nagoya. A colleague who happens to be visiting my office in Germany next week, will be bringing it personally and so saving me shipping and customs fees!!!

At the same time, a friend was vacationing in New York for a week and gladly accepted to bring me back a couple of lenses I bought from PhotoVillage.

So, - thanks to GREAT FRIENDS and TRUSTY SELLERS - early next week I will be receiving a new R-D1s, a new black VC 35/1.2 Nokton and the new black VC 15/4.5 coupled Suped-wide Heliar.

I had ordered an 'aged brown' leather half case from Luigi with built-in grip and built-in flat tripod screw, as well as a matching leather strap and a soft release button, all of which I hope to be getting soon.

Waiting at home, I already have a new VC 15D viewfinder, ScreenPatronus screen protectors, 2-3 Hoya 52" filters, a BlackRapid new-version Fastener for the Luigi leather strap and a Billingham Hadley canvas bag.

So with kit complete (for now), I am ready to go away for a couple of weeks to Greece and hopefully enjoy some shooting!
I'll post some photos when all is said and done!

BTW, I hope all this new kit will make me a better photographer ;)
... if only I can sell my Nikon SLR kit (cameras and primes) to pay for some lessons!!! Anybody interested ???

PS. just read over my post! I hope you don't misunderstand me as 'bragging'!!! I'm just very, very excited to be finally getting my camera and giving RF photography a go!!!

Now that sounds like one amazing kit. Not understood as bragging at all, great that it all turned out that well.

Good to hear all is well! :) Things have a way of balancing out, and after your hellacious experience with the scammer, looks like everything has straightened out! :)

Thats very good news, -- I too am looking to purchase an RD1 or RD1s and have been reading members posts to learn how to avoid pit falls. ( i'll stay in the background and keep looking/learning, and make a "wanted to buy post in classifieds" soon).
Again - good luck on the gear.

Steve.
