Use any lens, any mount, any format (as long as it's "flange focal range"(?)) with any of the existing film backs, digital or analogue. That's the new product just announced by Hartblei. A camera that accommodates interchangeability between many existing formats of optics and "recording" mediums. Hartblei Cam. Uses electronic shutter and allows interchangeability of screens and accessories as well.
This all with a hefty 5.5 grand pricetag, but at least the idea is cute. I'm also not sure about the benefits of performance of (D)SLR lenses on MF backs would be, many would probably underperform, but there would certainly be some variety (and if i wanted to use a Zeiss on MF I'd just use a Hassie).
Too bad it's a clumsy looking machine with obvious studio leaning, but I guess that's the way it works.

The sliding back principle for studio camera is almost old as dirt, I cannot see anything innovative here, if using digital sensor in lieu of film can be called an innovation at all.

The news is a electronic mount adapter to deal with contemporary AF SLR lenses. I hope that won't be eternally stuck on its own rather clumsy looking medium format (digital) view camera rather than being a accessory for more sophisticated ones.
