Eb*y grip for DP Merrill ??

That looks to be pretty well made and half the price of the thing it's a copy of. Gary uses these (the real ones) on his DPMs and swears by them. Personally I think they're a bit of overkill design wise ... I just went for the little adhesive Flipbacs and find them quite satisfactory.
 
just noticed this grip while poking around *bay. i imagine that they're an exact knockoff dimensionally at least, though the materials may differ from the original. seems like it would be worth a try if you use a compatible ball head.
 
I ordered one last week and will post a review here when I get it. I would not say that it's a copy of the RRS. This one allows access to the USB port unlike the RRS. So it's more like the JLM.
 
the sunwayphoto one, although in the title says for DPx, if you see from the picture it is showing that it is used for DPxM (merrill)
 
Hi, I've had most of these grips and I can report that the one for half the price is not an exact copy of the RRS in a very important, to me, way. While it is a nice grip the copy does not have the same shape to the gripping part that your fingertips curl into, the RRS grip has a little return area where your fingertips nestle into, making it a more secure grip. You can actually hang the camera from just your fingertips using this area, the camera would hang left side down doing this. A close inspection of the 2 grips will reveal this difference. Is it worth $80 more? maybe not, but I prefer the RRS grip for this feature. Bob.
