I recently sold my Panasonic DMC LC1 on ebay. The buyer was local and the exchange went smoothly at my office. In my ad, I said that the camera came with everything that was in the box, but I was having a hard time locating the software disc. I told him that all he needed to do was call Panasonic and get a new one. He is totally computer illiterate. No Photoshop experience or even knows what it is.
Now he emails me and said he wants a price adjustment due to the fact he has no software AND I didn't include the warranty. I sent him my lsiting again and it repeated everything I previously said upfront. It is a used camera. Nowhere in my ad did it say warranty included. I can understand the software disc, but that is an easy fix. The warranty on this camera expired two years ago.
He still says he wants some money back. I leave on vacation for a week and I sent him Panasonic's 800 number. I can't call because I don't have the serial number for the camera. I know Panasonic's customer service would be more then happy to send him a new disc if he told them he lost it. I told him if this isn't resolved before I return, I want the camera back and will refund all his money provided that the camera is returned in the same shape as I sold it - mint. I will not adjust the price. He received a lot more from me than other auctions on this camera. Box, cables, charger, extra battery, memory card, etc.. Besides, he also has the Leica version of this camera as well.
Am I being unfair??

You did fine. Don't lose sleep over it. You have to remember that people like him are use to whining to places like Macy's or Sears which will accept any line of BS to keep the customer happy. You're not a department store. You don't have to put up with that nonsense.

You are being fair. He can either keep it, or return. Asking for a "discount" after he agreed to buy it sounds like he wants to be bribed to give postive feed back.

Totally agree with Chris. Don't lose sleep over this guy...like Chris said, "keep it, or return". Simple as that.
