8 pages long, written by the seller. Repair manual is a bit of an overstatement.

Not a bad price for what it is...

I have a reprint of the factory "Leica M3 Service Information" book. It looks to be over 150 pages and is not really very useful to a hobbyist, or anyone without the Leica tools and jibs constantly mentioned by part # (but not described). The eBay book linked looks interesting and might end up being more useful.

A chap by the name of Daniel D. Teoli Jr has kindly uploaded 170 jpeg files being scans of the factory M3 service manual pages. You can find it at this page.
I have actually saved these images as a pdf document. Not being especially skilled with such processes, this took me a good couple of hours this afternoon (not least because photoshop persisted in jumbling up the bloody page sequence when I imported the files and I had to manually sort them all
). It's nearly 100mb for 170 pages so I dare say I could have reduced the resolution/quality, but I didn't feel like stuffing it up by setting it too low, and having to do it all again. Go big or go home, right?
I've contacted Daniel to see if he would like a copy of the pdf, and also because I would prefer to have his blessing before distributing it. Perhaps he'll want to host it. But in the meantime you can view the images on his page (or create your own pdf, I suppose), if you so desire.
FYI,
Brett

I own a copy of the book from the factory with all parts and their numbers in it. I think Brett has the same book.
It is however not a service manual, but only a telephone book with all the parts mentioned.
Nobbysparrows books are very practical guides for beginners. However, to become a succesfull Leica repairman one must have many years of experience.

Erik, I think the Leitz title on the cover may be "service information"? So I simply wrote a post title which I thought reflected that.
Cheers,

Thanks, Brett.
I doubt I will personally be doing a teardown on the M3 I no longer have, or might reacquire, but the manual is a nice asset to have regardless. Two minutes into it and I already learned that the gasket in an IXMOO is to be treated with “Teroson special fluid”.
If I can’t manage a full M3 CLA, at least I know know what I should be doing with my IXMOOs to keep them running smoothly. Now where did I put that bottle of Teroson?

Welcome Larry, and thanks especially to the good Mr Teoli for his scanning efforts. I have not seen that reference to Tereson yet, was too busy formatting the doc previously to pore over it, but that will surely come. I seem to have picked up an M3 sort of the same way I scored some ALPAs. But it's a bit crook—so this manual and the other documentation I've acquired will come in very handy.
Cheers,
Brett

I would probably turn a valuable camera into a jumbled mess no real repairer would touch to try and put back right.
