I'm having a little fun w/ this one. I bid and lost on an M2-R and now I've rec'd a "2nd chance" offer advising me to contact the seller directly. It was very well done w/ realistic looking banners and Ebay logos. Here's the text of our communication. Anyone have suggestions on pulling his leg a little more? Also note, the fool gave me his name and address.

Yes that's right .here is my info to wire transfer the money via Money Gram .You can find the nearest office at www.moneygram.com

First Name: John

Last Name: Goodson

Street: 840 Red Lion

City/State: Philadelphia / PA

Zip code: 19138

Country: United States

As soon as the payment is done send me a fax with the receipt: fax #: 206-666-5530
or you can email me the scanned paper.
If you don't have a scanner or fax send me by email the following info:
reference number:
sender's name and address of the transfer
Hope to hear from you soon!

Hi Steve, I sent you a personal note about how this guy scammed me, but actually got money out of me. $1200.00 to be exact and them tried to get more. That's when a flag went up. He told me he sent out two by mistake and offered me one at a discounted price of $900. My husband said sure, but wanted shipping proof of the first one first. He said he woul send the "scanned" paper in a couple of hours and never did. That was Friday and then I came across your scam site and new I had been screwed. I am taking this to the police department and to an attorney. With all the correspondence, someone should be able to find this scum bag. Got any advice anyone to get my money back???. Brett and Shelley

Thanks Tom , but I used Money Gram. It was a cash transaction, but I have the Money Gram receipt. Money Gram won't tell me where it was picked up unless I have subpoena?(spelling) Ebay sent me a fraud alert on Oct 12. All after it was done. Money Gram is a preferred option with some eBayers that's why it didn't alarm me. Thanks anyway, Shelley

Sorry to hear about your dealings w/ this guy..

I never actually sent him any money. I was pretty suspicious of him. I typically make my internet purchases w/ a credit card so I can dispute the charge if need be. Good luck you.

I had the same thing happen on a GX680 I was bidding. I got the email late and night, and without much thought responded as to a lower price than I had bid, that it go thru ebay, yada, yada. Well I never heard back. As soon as I had pressed the sent button, I started to think about it more. I forwarded it on to ebay. I tried to contact the supposed buyer and the seller. The seller had an email listed in the post, so I emailed them. They said the transaction had gone thru.

I never heard from the guys again, but my terms would not have been acceptable to them.

How do they find out so much about us?

Mark

You might get him convicted- if they ever find him. But your money back? forget it. He'll be on welfare with the loot well stashed away.
