I know the Saigon photo but I have never heard of the man. There's still much to learn, and very little time to do so. Too bad we often have to realise a (wo)man's work when we read their obituary in the newspaper. Too sad....

I don't use to read too many newspapers but last sunday my uncle came home with it and I found this on the weekend magazine.
Curious note, after he lost his leg during a battle short after this shot (no pun intended), Nguyen N. Loan (the Vietnam police officer shooting this Vietcong militian) moved to the US where he opened a pizza restaurant.

Supposedly the Pizza place in Burke, Virginia was opened by that Officer ~1975. They served square pizza, it was pretty good.

Yes, that was his Pizza Place. It was always rumored that he was the owner of it since the day it opened. He seemed like a nice person.

According to the article on that magazine, when Eddie was asked what did he think about Mr. Loan after seeing that, he replied 'imagine you're in a war and you capture someone who has just killed some of your friends, what would you do?'
Difficult answer !
But in the end, there's always pizza.
PS: And btw, that new avatar of yours is simply fantastic. I know from experience that is not easy at all to take pics of someone on a swing.
