can't seems to find it....

The best camera is one that still works!
Roland appears to have done a Pitxu on us and vanished ... as he left he deleted threads and posts! ???
I think he may have moved the project across to flickr due to the scepticism here.

Roland didn't vanish, and he didn't delete all his threads (I just checked) but he did delete the 1 cam, 2 lenses, b/w, 1 year thread. You can follow his project over at flickr.

I'm trying to try to try to do this. I'm trying. With one lens. Thinking of trading my M8 in for an MP. Going to get my 35mm pre-asph serviced. Thinking of New TMax 400 in D-76 1:1. For a year. Aim for two rolls a week. Process everything at home and scan the contact sheets on the flatbed at the weekends. Scan and print at least one select pic a week.
But it's like going out for that run when it's cold and raining outside...I know it would be good for me, but being inside and warm (read: owning and using loads of gear) is just too comfortable.

i think essence of this approach is to improve or bring one's photography skill level to the next.... a self challenge. of coz one must realize there is still room for improvement.
there are thousand and one ways to improve... this approach is just one of them as suggested.
some believe in it, some don't. which is cool.

Well, I'm still challenging myself. I only have one SLR to empty. This weekend will empty the fridge of exposed film, and will be gearing up the darkroom.
I'll be shooting only Ilford B&W, using an M6, a 35/2.0 V.4 and a 75/1.4 Lux.
My only SLR/collor film binge will be Memorial Day weekend 2010, because of an important wedding.
To me its about self discipline, and keeping it simple by doing it solo is good for me. Less is more. July first the comitment begins.

There is nothing to report really.
You get overly exited at times, Joe.
It was a personal goal for Roland [two lenses ... etc.], and he will do his project. That's all. People here have many different wishes for the project rules, and in the end, what would have been agreeable to "all" would not be what Roland wanted for his project.
There is nothing disturbing about such a conclusion. Take it easy.

Nothing to it, really, Joe: trying to reduce my time on-line (including ebay, etc.), spending more time using a limited kit. Learning to shoot and develop B+W. I decided doing is more important than talking about it and already started in June. Hope to get some first scans up soon.
Best,
Roland.
Best,
Roland.
