Also very good news. But not surprising at all.
At last Photokina in September we've had a rff member meeting there. A group of several rff forum members from different countries. It was not only very nice to meet and talk in person, but we also went to all manufacturers of film, photo chemistry, film cameras and all film related stuff and talked to them and asked them about their market assessment.
And all (!) of them - with no exception - told us that the market is recovering and the demand increasing.
The film revival is real.
You just have to look at the exploding number of film photography channels on youtube and the exploding number of of film photography content on instagram.
In the last months some members of this rff group which met at Photokina have reported about that here in the (sub)forums. Unfortunately some members who were not at Photokina and have not talked to all the manufacturers attacked those who have reported that. Please, it is time for you to get out of this "film is dead" bubble.
Why? The prices for excellent scanners on the used market are strongly increasing. Not only for the pakon, but also for all the Nikon Coolscans, Fuji and Noritsu minilab scanners, drum scanners. The higher the prices, the more likely that new scanners will be introduced on the market. But of course those cannot be cheap then.
AFAIK Eastman Kodak is still in the scanner business for the print industry, so the technology is there.
E.g. Noritsu has never stopped production of their excellent scanners. Same is valid for ICG drum scanners.
