Electric Car...finally!

here you go. Aston Martin Volante converted to bio-ethanol produced using waste from the british wine industry.

If that thing is eco friendly I'm an alien.

Saw an electric Smart ForTwo at the dealer a couple weeks ago, when I had my car in for service. IIRC the sticker said $84k. I have a gas Smart ForTwo that requires 4800 rpm in 4th to maintain freeway speed up the three ridges to the larger community 40 miles away. It has 73 hp, while the electric has 41 hp, which I understand means a top speed of about 60, but not uphill on the freeway. And with a max range of only 84mi it might barely make the round trip to town if I took the slow non-hilly back road, but would never make it to the dealer 120mi away without a mid-trip recharge. It would be fine in an urban environment I think, as long as the commute is short. But it wouldn't work for us.

To me, hybrides and alternatively powered cars look like digital cameras. Too many standards rapidly evolving and who yet knows if buyer and ecosystem wins at this anything.
