Hi Guys,
A friend of mine has an Electro 35 G and is taking it to California at the start of July. He wants to shoot ISO400 film for available light photography but might also want to shoot in bright daylight without having to change to a slower film speed.
Would ISO400 be overexposed in these conditions and if so could he compensate with a neutral density filter ND4 and rate the film at ISO100?
I've used a QL17-L, among others, with ISO400 in bright conditions before with only the occasional overexposure but I've no experience of using an Electro 35 G so I was reluctant to tell him everything would be OK.
The main point is that as he's new to photography he doesn't want to have to change films, particularly mid-roll, but is happy enough to remember to fit an ND and change the film rating.
Thanks for your help!
PS, part of his decision to abandon his point & shoot digital for an RF was the galleries I showed him on this site - long live old technology!
