How does a proper GSN Light seal look like?
I just got mine (In an old smelling leather case (GSN smells the same), including a TC and WAC, Vivitar flash+bracket), there seem to be seals on either end of the door, but none along the edges. (refering only to foam).
Does the top and bottom edge not seal against a foam? (the foam does look a little raggedy, but no signs of glue along the top and bottom edges)
I figured i ask this question before i go out buy me some batteries.
This way i won't ruin a roll of 160NC on shot light seals
Thanks in advance,
Daniel

Sounds right to me - there should also be a foam lightseals in the gap above & below the opening on the back of the camera, so that the edges of the back close onto them.

Then i am lacking those foam parts.
Anyone got any pictures of the seals on the door?
I'll see i can shoot mine real quick

Try to contact John Goodman here on RFF - he supplies the seals and good instructions. Great price and rapid delivery - I have no relation to him, other than a delighted customer
(edited to correct user name - sorry John, aarrgghh!)

I know the shots are far from great, especially the door (it was so enticing to focus on that pressure plate!)
They should still show how much or little foam i got in there though.

Yeah, you need to clean that all out and start with new seals.
Interslice is your man on ebay.

One interslice kit ordered, thanks, i think i still risk a roll, maybe pick up a cheaper Kodak Gold though, not like i'll be able to look at the cam until the seals arrive.

On another note, does anyone have a spare battery cover?
The contacts in mine just fell apart trying to close the battery lid, i guess they were too badly corroded afterall :/

Battery covers are getting hard to find, I would suggest two things:
- contact Greyhoundman here, he may have a spare
- find some copper or brass sheet and make a large washer the same diameter as the inside of the battery cap, then use the cap to hold it in place.

Btw, thanks pesphoto, my seals came in the mail today, will do surgery over the weekend, Jon even had some material for the pod he mailed out after the seals, so i will see if it clunks with a new pod once i get the material.
