End of an era, Camera Trading Company closes its storefront in Ottawa.
Last day open was Sat April 15.

They will continue as an online store.

Hi Vick,

I don't remember them, but I always went to Goulds on Bank Street, 83 I think the address was?
I bought my first darkroom set-up there, along with several camera's and lenses over the years.
Moved back to Vancouver in '79, just after Goulds closed down. The Camera Trading Company must opened sometime after that?

It was a little gem of a shop. It will definitely be missed. Bought a Rollei 35SE from there last time I was in town, in November. Here's a short video which gives you a glimpse of the store and owners:

There were some great bargains to be had prior to the closure. I scored a Konica 1, MIOJ, and am running a film through it now.

I also bought, or rather traded fora Kodak Autographic, made in Canada.

That's a heart breaker for me , it was a favoured haunt every time I returned to
Ottawa to visit my daughters . Nothing quite like it here in the Vancouver area . Peter

Great news, the Ottawa Camera Trading Company secured a new space, slightly smaller, just down the block, and will open Saturdays only.

Their new location is 386c Bank Street - half a block south of where their previous location was.

They will spend the rest of May setting up, but welcome you to visit on June 3 !!!!
