Has anyone here used this scanner for MF negatives? All the information on it suggests that the film holder for MF is for transparencies only. They don't indicate if that's as a film strip or mounted. I want something that will do MF B&W negatives.

Walker I use an Epson 4180 for MF scanning. I only use it for B&W negatives. It comes with a MF negative holder as well as 35mm strip holder. You can, of course, scan strips of positives but I've never done that.

I have a Epson 2450, the 5-6 years old, I got it because it does MF and LF negs, the holder is for 120 film not slides. The epson flatbeds do a really nice job, here are a couple scans on 120:

Gene & Todd, thank you both. My impression was that the MF holder would work for B&W negatives but I needed to be sure before making the investment. I'd like to have the 4870 which includes 4x5 holders but they cost a lot more money than I want to spend and I don't shoot 4x5 any more anyway.
