I wanted to get a computerless/portable photo printer for a project and after some thought settled on the Epson PictureMate Charm. Figured I'd share my opinion.

The charm is relatively compact considering it's a printer. It only prints 4x6 images on two different types of paper. There's Glossy and there's Matte. And the paper can only be purchased paired with a print cartridge. Fortunately it's not obscenely priced. About $32 from B&H for a print cartridge and 150 sheets of glossy 4x6 paper.

It has built in image correction which can be turned off. But it really isn't that bad. The image on the left was perfect out of my M8. And the image on the right was underexposed about a stop and the built in correction helped brighten it up. The prints are smooth and sharp. Though colours are a bit saturated/punchy. But most people like that sort of thing.

The only downsides I really see are that it only reads JPEG, it's only a 4 colour printer, and it only holds 20 sheets at a time. And you can't transport it with sheets. You need to carry them separately. Otherwise I'm in love with the thing.
